Charles B. “Mike” Macloskie brings more than six decades of legal insight, public service, and community leadership to his role as Of Counsel at Harvey & Battey. Known throughout Beaufort for his wisdom, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the law, Mike remains a respected figure in South Carolina’s legal community.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps before beginning his academic journey at the College of Charleston. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar shortly thereafter.

Mike began his legal career with the firm then known as Harvey, Harvey & Battey, gaining valuable experience and building a reputation for excellence. He later founded a successful solo practice, where he served the legal needs of Beaufort County residents for many years. Today, he continues to serve as Of Counsel with Harvey & Battey, offering mentorship and guidance rooted in a lifetime of practice.

Deeply involved in the life of his community, Mike is a devoted member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. He and his late wife, Donna, have built a life of service and family in Beaufort, where they had raised two sons and spent time with their four grandchildren.

Mike’s legacy continues — not only through the many clients he has served and the attorneys he has mentored, but through the lasting impact he has made on the Beaufort legal landscape.
