Austin Blake is a trial attorney whose practice is devoted almost exclusively to litigation. He represents clients throughout South Carolina in civil and criminal matters, regularly appearing in courtrooms across the state and trying cases before judges and juries. Austin has successfully tried both civil and criminal cases to jury verdict.

Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Austin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Marshall University before moving to South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law. He joined Harvey & Battey, P.A. in 2019 and was elected partner in 2025.

His criminal defense practice is broad and includes the defense of clients charged with offenses ranging from DUI charges and other traffic violations and drug possession to serious felony prosecutions, including drug trafficking, domestic violence, and homicide.

His civil practice is primarily a plaintiff’s practice, representing individuals in automobile collisions, premises liability matters, condemnation and eminent domain cases, federal civil rights litigation, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death cases. He also represents businesses and property owners in commercial litigation, real property disputes, and landlord-tenant matters.

Whether representing an individual accused of a crime or a plaintiff pursuing justice in a civil action, Austin approaches every case with meticulous preparation and a readiness to take the case to trial.

Austin is a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the South Carolina Association for Justice.

Outside the courtroom, Austin is an avid wingshooter and fly fisherman and enjoys exploring the Lowcountry with his golden retriever, Loki.
