Austin was born in Charleston, West Virginia, where he remained until he enrolled at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. While studying at Marshall, Austin obtained a B.A. in Political Science from the College of Liberal Arts. Upon graduation, Austin moved to Columbia, South Carolina where he lived for three years while attending the University of South Carolina’s School of Law.

Austin joined Harvey & Battey, PA., in August 2019 and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in November 2019.

Since then, Austin has litigated civil and criminal cases in both the Circuit Court and Magistrate Courts of South Carolina.  While nearly 80% of his practice is dedicated to litigation, Austin enjoys advising small business and serves as counsel for several Lowcountry businesses.

Austin tries to occupy the majority of his free time with wing shooting and fly fishing trips, however, more often than not, you can find him roaming around Beaufort with his golden retriever, Loki.
